  "Gerald ist die am weitesten gereiste Person, die ich kenne, doch seine größte Leidenschaft gilt sicherlich den Ländern des hohen Nordens: Seine Fotos aus Grönland, Norwegen oder den Faroer-Inseln sind spektakulär und verursachen bei mir sofortiges Fernweh. Dabei versteht er es sehr geschickt, die gigantischen Ausmaße der Natur in Relation zu den oftmals winzig erscheinen, kunterbunten Behausungen der Einwohner vor Ort zu setzen. Seine Bilder tragen deshalb stets seine unverkennbare Handschrift.
  
  Als Kontakt ist Gerald immer um ausführlichere Kommentare bemüht und man ist immer wieder überrascht, wie intensiv er sich mit den eigenen Arbeiten auseinandersetzt. Er ist jedenfalls für Flickr und für mich eine echte Bereicherung, und ich möchte ihn hier nicht mehr missen."
