Doris Lessing once described Africa as " A small bird singing in a mango tree". Anyone who was born and brought up in Africa will know what she means. I have taken the phrase "Singing in a Mango Tree" to document the other half of my life, not in Africa but in Canada. But I have to admit that sometimes I find the beauty of the West Coast so overwhelming that I long to stand quietly in the African bush watching a kudu leaping with my soul over tall grasses and hearing the gentle call of the doves.
