Zicon's photostream

I'm a happy amateur photographer, always carrying my camera around in the hopes of snapping something interesting.

My weapon of choice is a Nikon Coolpix P6000. Also in my toolkit is a Canon G5, and of course the camera in my HTC Magic phone.

I rarely take photos indented to be a finished product, although I am getting better at taking photos that can be viewed as such. I take pictures for inspiration, reference, or incorporating into other graphics. As such I take lots of pictures of interesting textures, detailed shots of animals and plants, details on artwork, and very, very rarely of people. I find typical holiday shots of people posing in front of landmarks very unappealing, and avoid them like the plague.
