"This wonderfully modest and friendly man's photography has really blossomed. He's had a couple of creativity growth spurts that I've witnessed and been incredibly impressed by. Can't wait for the future evolutions/revolutions - it will happen . . ."

""No, he's in the bath. You must be Merril" was the first words I said to him online. I'd not really spoken to him online since until i became part of Flickr. It was round this time last year where he photoshoped a picture that James had taken in South Wales; it then went on to win a competion to be part of a local calendar for the village that we have been to every year for the past 3 years. I started to look at his pictures on here and thought, wow this guy is a brilliant photographer! Merrill has a way of taking a simply taken picture and turn it into something amazing from his imagination.
The depth, the emotion, the memories, the true brilliance behind the picture is someone who is a unique person with an equal unique personality. Who would think that on one day that someone could be so emotive with a picture which brings you close to tears and on another day makes you laugh with a picture filled with comedic timing that even Elmo is impressed with being told off!
Mez is a truley wonderful person, a good tutor and a brilliant, no, somone who i am proud to call an amazing true close friend. he has opened my mind more to the mundane buildings, objects and subject matter and shown me more than what is actually there."5th March, 2009

Saesno says:
"I have chatted online to Mez about photography for a long time and he was responsible for persuading me to start using Flickr. He has provided me with a lot of constructive, and very instructive, criticism of my images, as well as providing me with lots of ad-hoc tutorials about how to realise what is in my mind's eye using photoshop!
I love his images and enjoy being challenged, made to think, or simply made to smile by them."13th February, 2009

Kobaltblu says:
"I first encountered Merrill's work when I saw an image he'd created for the Pimp My Pixels Flickr group. He created such a moving interpretation of the original image that I was very taken by it.
Merrill has been generous with his praise, and his encouragement of not just my own, but of the larger Flickr community. It brought me to create more interesting work, and enhanced my ability to be more free to let my unconscious processes work. He gently allowed me to focus on what really is important—not to worry about how good other people were, but to bring out the images that were waiting to come of my own experiences and ideas.
Merrill uses rich, complex colors, images that are atmospheric and seem self-contained in a world of his creation. He blends processes and image into a unified whole, into a composition both precise and effortless. I know of few who have such a distinctive style that is consistent yet always surprising.
He is a rare treasure to Flickr, a talent that transcends boundaries. I look forward to his photostream, unable to predict where I'll be taken, but excited by the prospect of a tale, a novel, held within the confines of an image."4th January, 2009

"A beautifully talented, honest and creative photo stream is that of Zeon7. There is the drive to make you see the beauty in everything, and Merrill takes you to the dark places and shows you a comfort zone long forgotten.
His personality flows through his images in great detail often concentrating on macro type self work and minature toys.
I see a glint in his eye, something that has promise and dedication."16th March, 2008
