• I am availble for photographic projects.
• I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
• I work well unobtrusively at events.
• I rarely use flash.

natural or available light is some thing I am very curious about and therefore ask a lot of questions of it. I have been capturing images since 1973 with relentless interest in ambient light. It is the way most people see it.

As a thumbnail it looks like toys, at this size is´s a thrilling surreal arrangement, love the bird & horizontally flying pear, implicating the idea of meeting on different levels, kind of like airplanes (bad metaphor, airplanes would probably crash....uurrrgggh!!!), the dandelion could be tenderness or just the ephemeral component, the red lips don´t need much interpretation, they should better be kissed right away, so, what´s left? The musician, .... got to hop to your profile, but from your pics I gather that you love music or even perform it yourself & the blue flower could be the symbol of unfulfilled yearning as expressed in romanticism in literature, if you chose it for your icon, let me psychoanalyze that you care for values & feelings most people have never even encountered & even better: you dare shwong it public ........
That´s Doc Supersmart speaking, maybe I´m wrong, but I love this crazy & very creative arrangement, it includes what life is all about: hope, dreams, creativity, compassion, emotions, artistic spirit, freedom & movement at it´s best (free like a bird!!).
I´d say, I get the golden medal for the longest comment in flickr history & you get the diamond star for this piece of art!"

I love it.

    jandapoocorner.t21 says:

"Robert Zawaski... what can one say about his photography? Well, he follows the maxim of one of his heros and photographs anything that interests him. Perhaps we all do that in our own way? He uses colour a great deal... but then so do we all. So, what makes Robert's shots special?
For one thing he has a very fine eye... he can see deep into a subject whether it be a trip along the highway to Banff or from one of the hills overlooking downtown Calgary... he shoots them all with the same integrity and care. Every shot is precise and clear, every shot draws you in and then slowly reveals something new. Take the recent downtown shots of Calgary... at first glance you see the high-rises and the ikonic buildings... Bankers' Hall is always there... you can see the smoke rising from the heating systems and it's just a typical Calgary shot... it could be anywhere... but no! Look closely and you will see nature lapping like some unstoppable tide around these buildings... there are a few snow-roofed houses... single and two story affairs built before the oil boom when Calgary was a different place in a different time... and then you notice the conifers... the more you look the more of these you see... robust and indomitable these trees wait patiently (or so it seems in Robert's shot) for their time...
Robert knows his "parish" well. He anticipates and has the patience and the good sense to record life as it IS... there is an honesty to his work and a sense of place that is inclusive. His technique is clear and sharp and has integrity.. there is also a modesty about what he records and the way he records it.
Robert in in that great tradition of photographers who see into the distance... he follows in the footsteps of lensmen like Paul Strand and Edward Weston... photographers attuned to the landscape.
I hope that this testimonial is enough to get you interested in his work

Thank you for your patience in reading to the end
