I am a marine biologist, keen SCUBA diver and wildlife photographer and am currently based in Glasgow, working at Glasgow University as a research assistant. I've been diving for about the last 9 years and I started photography as a fairly serious hobby around 5 years ago while I was working in the Firth of Lorne (west coast of Scotland) as a wildlife guide on a local tour boat. The marine environment is what I'm really passionate about, and over the last few years I've been building up my gear to be able to shoot Scottish marine wildlife above and below the surface of the waves - it's not been cheap, but the results are starting to pay off!

Luckily for me, I've got a cracking job which regularly takes me out to sea, around the coast or further offshore which gives me plenty of opportunities for wildlife photography while I'm there. It also gives me a chance to shoot from more unusual places, like from commercial fishing vessels or large research cruise ships.
