Youth Voices Research Group is as a social innovation and evaluation unit based at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). Youth Voices seeks to promote youth engagement, expression, empowerment and exchange through social media and participatory research.

Youth Voices works locally and internationally to involve young people from diverse backgrounds in issue identification, community action and global education. Our focus is on the use of media arts and technologies for community development and applied research. This "youth in action" approach combines youth engagement, youth media, eHealth and knowledge exchange through evidence-based resources and best practices.

Our work is centered on our Youth Voices Process for authentic and meaningful youth engagement. The content of our work looks at issues of health and wellbeing across the spectrum of the social determinants of health. Of particular interest are issues of food systems, gambling, and tobacco use and control.
