About me

My name is Youssef and I'm 24. I graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the American University in Cairo (AUC).

I'm a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), currently working as an auditor at Deloitte in Cairo, Egypt. I'm a photographer, techie, and watch enthusiast.

I've been into photography since back in high school when I used to go around with my Sony Cybershot and take pictures of everything. However, I never got a chance to really get into it until September 2007 when I got my first DSLR.

I shoot with a Nikon D80 and a VR Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6; I also have a 50mm f/1.8, a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, a Sigma 20mm f/1.8, an SB-800, an SB-600, and an SB-400. Lately I've been looking to buy a Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 as well as some kind of wide ultra wide angle lens like a 14-24mm f/2.8 or something.

I like to shoot everything... landscapes, people, objects. Typically I shoot whatever is there with whatever lighting is available, rather than try to arrange for the photo as one would in a studio for example. I am, however, starting to become more interested in shooting models in a more studio-like environment but I haven't yet had the chance to explore that much.

I also love to talk photography so feel free to contact me about photos, equipment, techniques, or anything else; I'd love to learn from others.
