"Mark,
Once I saw your latest photo (6 fingers. Specification for chronology's sake), I knew I had to write you one of these.
Your stream has grown to be one of my favorites on flickr. The moods, tones and stories are all unique to each shot, but at the same they all relate to one another. That continuity shows the viewer what you're all about. People's streams are somewhat of a fingerprint for each photographer's mind; you have a twisted mind and that's why it's so interesting to see.
Your shots are refreshing to look at, and just plain good. You are not satisfied to just take a well-composed and well-exposed shot of a tree. NO! That would be out of character... you go the extra mile and add a floating person next to it. Same goes for your latest shot. I think most people just go, "wow, that shot is really nice. The background, position of the hands, old camera and all...", and then, double take and realize that much more thought when into the image than what at first was noticed.
Your stream (especially your latest work) is amazing. Your shots seems so real. The world you create seems so natural and like a real possibility. A mix of faux-vintage, myth, decay, dusty light, mad scientist and little bit of assorted mental disorders is always nice to see.
I look forward to your next creations. Keep it up"27th August, 2010

"Mark Paul Wilson-
For one, I don't find your name boring at all. Two, your photograph is full of life and ironically enough a feeling of decay as well. You show both sides of the story throughout your photos by its tones, lighting, and subject matter. Your locations for photographs are also incredible. They are in places that aren't common to the human eye. I like the self portrait with the various windows. That's always going to be a favorite of mine. You capture photos that I wish I had the talent to capture.
;)
thanks for your kindness all the time
and 'favorites' on my photographs.
love always-"28th July, 2010

"It's so hard for me to express myself with words. I have wanted to write a testimonial so much for Mark for so long, but never had the guts to do so, because I know no amount of writing could sum up Marks work. I wish someone or something could help me put my awe into words!! It it such a plea..............
Uh, okay? I stopped because a little greenfly just landed on my hand. Creepy.
He is covered in white fluff. Strange fellow. Getting distracted!!!!
Right, I guess Cuthbert (that's what I'm naming him) is the one who's going to help me write this.
Lets try again.
Mark is ridiculously talented. I think if it were possible to capture talent in a jar and share it with others, there would be way more than enough to go around. Although, of course I believe everyone has talent, just different kinds. I think the real challenge is not just posessing talent but having the courage to follow it, which he certainly has. I also beleive talent is natures way of showing what we are intended for. And by listening to nature, Mark will surely succeed. His pictures are unique and I know how much thought he puts into every last little detail. He is not afraid to experiment with new ideas. He is not afraid to segregate himself from mainstream. He is not afraid to be different. Just looking at his "scrap" work makes you wonder what on Earth his "actual" work will proceed to be like. This harsh critique with himself enables his work to thrive and blossom even more. I hope he treats his gift the opposite to how money should be treated. Mark, don't save it up or use little bits. Splash out. Because you are a billionaire. Because unlike some, you can.
Cuthbert seems to agree, he flew over to the last paragraph and is sitting inbetween the words "are" and "unique".
If Cuthbert likes it, it stays.
I am so glad Mark follows his talents because that's what they're there for, ultimately. There's a fitting famous saying for what I am trying to express, "What use is a sun dial in the shade?" It means, don't hide yourself from what you were made to do. His genius mind conjures up concepts and his talent works towards making beautiful images from this. Careers are born in public. Talent is born in private. And I am one of the lucky ones who has actually been able to see that talent being born and growing rapidly since. I am proud to be able to say that I have been a part of it since the start, and I hope I always will.
He's got amazing character, a bold sense of courage and will certainly go a long way in the future.
On an end note, I just put Cuthbert on my windowsill. He sat with me the whole time whilst I typed this so I thought I should repay him by letting him go off and spread his encouragement :)
