Young Audiences of Northern California is one of 32 affiliates of Young Audiences, Inc., the nation's leading source of arts-in-education services for schools and communities. The Northern California affiliate began to connect community artists with children in schools throughout the Bay Area in 1958. Currently we serve a ten-county region primarily reaching grades K-8 with arts programming that ranges from in-school assembly presentations and residencies to performances in public venues. An added focus in recent years has been professional development for teachers, encouraging the use of community-based arts programming as a unique strategy to help children learn. The hallmark of all Young Audiences programming is its artistic excellence, its educational validity and its cultural relevance to the Bay Area's diverse populations.

Our mission is to make the arts - classical, contemporary and multicultural - an essential part of every young person's education and life.
