York is a county seat town of about 8,000 at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 81 (the Pan-American Highway).
The local economy's foundation includes irrigated corn. Three seed corn production plants, two corn research labs and an ethanol production plant rely on that predictable base of corn
