I am really into genealogy and have been for almost 20 years now. My ancestors are all Dutch. They come from the Achterhoek area (Winterswijk, Aalten, Bredevoort, Dinxperlo), Noord-Brabant and Zeeland.

On Flickr I post different types of information. I'm currently working on photographing or scanning primary sources in archives. If I have permission to put these online, I will add them to Flickr. I also like to use Flickr to create access to some old pictures I have, like the set of 19th century lithographs. I also like photography, and will upload some of my 'regular' pictures as well.

My websites
I've got several websites that include historical information:

Yvette's Dutch Genealogy Homepage (in English) includes information about researching your Dutch ancestors and my database with about 40,000 people from the Achterhoek. This database includes over 2,000 emigrants from the area who emigrated to the US (mainly Wisconsin and New York) in the 1800s.

Heerlijkheid Bredevoort (in Dutch) is a site where I publish transcribed records from the Achterhoek.

Sint Anna ter Muiden (in Dutch) is where I publish my reconstruction of who-lived-where in Sint Anna ter Muiden. Sint Anna is a small town in the west of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in Zeeland. I'm trying to find out who lived where from 1600 to 1850.

Silk map (in English) is a website about the story behind a silk escape map from World War II. The B17 tail gunner who originally owned this map has marked all his missions on the map.

Historische Cartografie (in Dutch) is the website of the study group of the history of cartography that I belong to. I'm one of the webmasters of that site.

My books
I collect books about the topics I'm interested in. You can check out my books at Librarything.
