Since joining flickr I've enjoyed looking at other people's photos and have been inspired to try different things that I wouldn't have thought of before.
My Dad was good at photography and he has lots of slides and black and white prints - I remember watching him develop the prints and then seeing them floating in the bath in the morning. It was really exciting! He bought me a FED4 35mm when I was 14. He taught me all about apertures and shutter speeds and depth of focus. (My sister and two brothers all developed an interest in photography too.) When I got my first job I bought an SLR, and got my first digital camera in about 2000. Digital is great but I miss the excitement of waiting a week to get my prints in the post. Now you get to see them straight away it’s not quite so special (but definitely better).
Apart from photography you can see what else I like by looking at my photos!
