Most everyone who looks at my photos already knows a little about me, but for those of you who are still scratching your heads...

I worked as a field scientist for an environmental consulting company (got laid off at the end of September) and traveled all over the lower 48 states in the United States. I spent a great deal of time in airports, on planes, or driving down the highway (real "up in the air" ala George Clooney kind of stuff).

I took up photography in 2004 as a means to capture something I intended to paint in water color. It was easier to photograph an old barn than sit up an easel on the side of the road and paint on location. Somehow over the years I've put down the paint brushes and picked up a Canon Rebel XSi.

I have a real love/hate relationship with my camera. Most times I want to throw it out the window, but then I'd just have to buy a new one since I can't go anywhere without it.

You'll see from my photographs that I'm more of a landscape sort of girl, but I really want to break out of my own mold. All of my photographs are taken while wandering across the country for work, or wandering across my home state of MI on my down time. Hope you enjoy them, and feel free to leave me comments, suggestions, constructive criticisms, etc.
