Gday! I'm Cassy, a 16 year-old amateur photographer from Australia. Photography has taught me to value the world around me, urban and natural. This became my biggest passion after I got my first digital camera 3 years ago.

I live in a town called Bundeena, located in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney. Being neighbours with the Royal National Park, Bundeena has been a beautiful place to grow up in and has greatly influenced my artistic flair. I have access to 6 stunning beaches, wildlife, rivers and rainforest 2km from my home. Also, I'm only a 20 minute ferry trip away from Cronulla where I can get photos of urban landscapes and surf.

I haven't been very popular with technology in the past few years, so there have been 5 different cameras through my experience with photography including:
- the Fujifilm Finepix 810, an 8 megapixel point-and-shoot ideal for someone just wanting to capture those precious memories like I did some 4 years ago.
- the waterproof Olympus UTough 8000, when I started to feel a love for the ocean.
- the Olympus SP800UZ, a 14 megapixel ultra-zoomer which I still use today,
- the iPhone 3GS, for those times where a camera isn't appropriate (such as school),
- my newest addition being the Canon Eos 550D with Tamron's 28-300 f/3.5-6.3 and Canon's 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 and 55-250 f/4.5-6.

Being inspired by my hometown and other photographers around me I have been improving with my skills and I hope to gain a career in photography in the near future. It'll be interesting to see how all my Flickr contacts grow in the future with their new experiences, stories and photography skills.

"Abyss to me is very versatile artist and a macro superstar (the name change is still forthcoming). When I first met her some years ago I was gripped by a feeling of violent nausea (tends to happen in a crowded ferry on a rough sea), little did I know I had stumbled on one of Bundeena's most surprising photographers.

Inspired by her home town and the natural beauty of the surrounding bushland and wind carved sandstone coastline Abyss is a versatile photographer who has the uncanny ability to predict how a subject or location will change throughout the day. In her field days she may shift from macro to super macro in pursuit of the perfect shot.

Recurring themes in her work reflect her personal interest’s music, waterfalls and flowers (taken as super macro shots). She also experiments as a photographer and has produced some very unusual and exciting work see Splash, Golden Glass and 1000 Views.
I expect to see great things from her in future."
