XpatScot's photostream

If, as artists, we are true and honest and sincere in what we do, every photograph we take will be a form of self-portrait.
Every photograph we share is subject to three key decisions: what to take; how to depict what is taken; and whether to publish the final result. Each of these decisions defines what we tell the world about ourselves. The first is concerned about what catches our eye; what we think is important enough to record for posterity; what, moves us; what, out of all the myriad things we see each day, stands up and demands that we take notice. The second describes how we feel about this subject and how it interacts with our intellectual and emotional being. And the third reveals what we want the world to know about us.

My life in a nutshell
What photography means to me
I joined Flickr to learn: by example, by advice, by experimentation and by taking heed of the response I get to the images I upload. So, here's the deal:
Comments: I really appreciate comments on my uploads, especially the constructive kind that tell me why you like (or dislike) the image; or what I might have done to improve it. On the other hand, I am conscious of the fact that commenting is time-consuming. So, if your thing is to rate images using a row of exclamation marks, that's good too. And I WILL give feedback in return. It's only fair.
Favourites: I tend to use favourites like bookmarks so that I can easily come back to see or even study images that I really like.
Invitations: it's an honour to be invited to post in a group and in most cases I will accept the invitation; but not if it is one of those P1C* groups. I respect everyone's right to use Flickr as they see fit but P1C* is just not my bag; so thanks, but no thanks.
Contacts: If you like my stuff and decide to contact me I'm flattered; but I try to restrict my own contact list to a manageable number so please don't be offended if I don't contact you back.
Galleries: Flickr is such a rich toolset I haven't gone into galleries in a big way; but being included in someone else's gallery is a real buzz.
Testimonials: I only write them when I am so blown-away by someone's stream that I momentarily forget how unqualified I am to judge.
To understand all my photographs as I understand them you’d have to be me; and there’d be no point in there being two of us. So try to understand them as you. Doing that is all I ask of you. And if an image means something to you, that’s a bonus for both of us.
Keith

"Keith is a great photographer, a energetic guy, a friendly man, and a idea careful guide. The attitude that he treats to photograph is very serious, but you can realize a lot of different manner from his photograph and the words. He has special views to photograph, and his work also proves him at explore to all newly photograph route. He is never stingy to laudatory words to the other people's work. He advocate few and well chosen from his photograph and favourite.
His step can't stop forever, because his inside of the intense emotion can not disappear.
An old angle-- Keith :)"5th August, 2011

v.sassy .. away says:
"Keith is an enigma. if you look over at his profile docu..history, you would assume that he is principled, extremely intelligent and governed by strict adherence to protocol. when I first read the profile, I assumed then he would be an artist very concerned with 'technique.'
when you open his stream and view his work, all that drops away.
you are taken to the very heart of a very talented artist who makes himself vulnerable to his viewers in a way I had not anticipated.
I admire him personally, and depending on one's personal filters, his work has the power to to create charged emotional responses.
I am honored to call him friend.
rock on, Marvin ... :D"26th August, 2009

Jason Nicholls says:
"Though I do not now Keith in person, I can assure you the kind of person he is. The time Keith puts in on flickr as a photographer and flickr'ite is amazing. His shots always present the viewer with a depth, perspective, and journey missing in most other photography, and he comments Keith makes on everyone else's photography are heartfelt, constructive, and backed by a solid creative mind.
Thank you Keith!"15th June, 2009
