Xana (Lisbon 1959) is a Visual Artist graduated in Fine Arts by the FBAUL (Lisbon College of Fine Arts) in 1984. In the same year he took up residence in Lagos/Algarve.
He is a professor in the University of Algarve, teaching in the Visual Arts degree from 2004.
Since 1985, he held several solo exhibitions and in April 2005 it was presented in a anthological exhibition "Arte Opaca e Outros Fantasmas /Art Opaque and Other Phantoms" a selection of his works within Culturgest, Lisbon .
His public art interventions, was presented in Lisbon, Osnabrück, Algarve and Barcelona ("Triumph Arc" - 2009 www.flickr.com/photos/xanab/sets/72157619014403793/)
He is represented in several public collections, including: the Serralves Museum in Oporto, Kunstlerhaus-Musonturm in Frankfurt, Luso-American Foundation and in the Centro de Arte Moderna, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.
