I've been eagerly taking pictures since my parents bought me a 110 Pocket Instamatic for Christmas when I was 7.
I graduated to my first SLR, a Ricoh KR-10S, in 1982 then upgraded from there to a Nikon 2000 in 1987.
When point-and-shoot digital cameras hit the market, I was married and starting a family so the bulky SLR went away in favor of something my wife & I could both easily and quickly use. I've taken some great shots with my little point-and-shoot's but have always missed the control and flexibility I had with my SLR.
On May 19th, 2011 I bought a Canon T3i/600D with two kit lenses (a EF-S18-55 and a EF-S 55-250). That weekend I bought Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 for my iMac and a Crumpler 5MDH camera bag.
I'm in heaven.
