WPA (Works Progress Administration)'s photostream

Some of the most accomplished musicians in America’s music scene have joined to create WPA (Works Progress Administration). The core band is made up of founding members Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek), and Luke Bulla (Jerry Douglas Band, Lyle Lovett). The three teamed up with Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), Greg Leisz (Joni Mitchell, Bill Frizell), Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Randy Newman), and Davey Faragher (Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Cracker) for the recording of their debut album, which is due out September 15.

The 3 founding members, with the addition of bassist Sebastian Steinberg (Soul Coughing), will embark on a nationwide tour. There will also be a number of shows with the full octet.
