Dh. Sthiramani's photostream

I am interested in and inspired by nature, especially in close-up; the colours, shapes, textures, and contrasts of flowers, leaves and whatever catches my eye. Every season has something to offer and is a reminder of the transitory nature of life - summer blossoming and winter decay, spring coming back to life and autumn's vibrant colours of change.

As a Buddhist I want to feel part of and not separate from nature. For me that includes reflecting on being part of the process of life and death - in a practical way, not being morbid about it; just trying to see and understand that this is the way it is.

Close-up means really having to look - really seeing (or trying to); looking at the detail that helps make up the whole wonderful picture that is the natural world.

If you are curious... my name - Sthiramani, given to me by my preceptor when I was ordained - means he who is an unwavering, resolute, trustworthy, steadfast jewel. I love it and it gives me plenty to live up to and work with every day. Dharmachari (Dharmacharini f.) means one who fares or courses in the Dharma - the Dharma being the Buddha's teaching or path.
