Je cherche à capturer l’éphémère et, en soi, invisible instant qui compose le mouvement d’un être vivant, celui d’un objet quelconque, voire même celui des astres. La très grande majorité de mes réalisations va en ce sens.

Cet éphémère instant s’exprime également dans mes paysages, mes couchers de soleil et mes fleurs puisque je m’attarde à tenter de les immortalise uniquement lorsque la lumière s’y prête, c’est-à-dire lorsqu’elle m’inspire.

Mon inspiration provient toutefois des travaux de Harold Eugene “Doc” Edgerton (1903-1990), lequel m’a permis, pour la toute première fois, de voir l’invisible et, par conséquent, d’arrêter la course du temps. Mon inspiration provient également des peintres impressionnistes et surréalistes, notamment Vincent van Gogh et Salvador Dali, lesquels ont contribué à porter un regard différent sur la lumière et les couleurs.

C’est pourquoi, depuis, je m’efforce de créer des images absolument uniques, ce que me permet le mouvement de mon sujet, lequel mouvement est d’ailleurs, fréquemment, la raison d’être de l’image elle-même.

D’où ma passion, à mes débuts, pour le ski et, aujourd’hui, pour les chevaux. Cette passion dépasse évidemment le seul volet photographique puisque j’estime qu’il faut soi-même pratiquer le sport ou être impliqué auprès du sujet pour bien le comprendre et le représenter adéquatement. Il s’agit donc d’une démarche d’apprentissage continu.

Photographe autodidacte, j’ai commencé à produire des œuvres il y a une trentaine d’années (avec un long hiatus ayant été accaparé par une autre carrière). Mais être photographe, c’est d’abord dans la façon de regarder le monde autour de soi. On peut arrêter de produire des photos – et donc de faire une pause au niveau technique – mais on n’arrête jamais d’être photographe.


I seek to capture the fleeting and, as such invisible instant that the movement of a living being, any ordinary objet or even that of stars is comprised of. The vast majority of my creations follows this principle.

This fleeting instant is also expressed though my landscapes, sunsets and flowers for I only dwell on attempting to immortalize them when the light is right, thus when it inspires me.

My inspiration, however, is due to the work of Harold Eugene “Doc” Edgerton (1903-1990) which allowed me, for the first time, to see the invisible and thus, to stop time. I'm also inspired by impressionist and surrealist painters, such as Vincent van Gogh and Salvador Dali, which have allowed a different way to represent light and colours.

This is why I strive to create absolutely unique images, which the movement of my subject allows me to do, which movement is also frequently the main subject of my creation.

This explains my passion for action photography, skiing earlier on and, now, horses. This passion transcends the photographic aspect since I believe one must also be proficient in the sport or implicated with the subject to understand it well and represent it correctly. It is thus a continuous endeavour.

Self-taught photographer, I started creating about 30 years ago (with a fairly long hiatus due to another career). But being a photographer is first and foremost a manner in which to look at the world around you. One can stop creating – and thus put the technical skills on pause – but one never stops being a photographer.
