A brief note about comments--If you post an actual comment on any of my photos, and not just a cut-and-paste award or invitation, I will visit your photostream and return the favor. Photography has opened up a whole new world for me and changed my perception of everything around me. It is my passion. If you've ever stopped and stared at a brick wall, noticing the shadows,the textures, the colors, and have tilted your head this way and that wishing you had your camera with you, then you know just what I mean.

I have learned so very much from my contacts and from others on Flickr and for that I will be eternally grateful. I keep practicing and trying out new things and I think my skills have improved over the years. I hope I never stop wanting to learn more or to try new things.

My favorite subjects are animals, people, cultural events and vistas of beautiful Southern California. I currently use a Nikon D40 and Photoshop CS3. My better half surprised me with a Nikor 55-200 VR lens and I've accumulated filters, a gorilla-pod, mono-pod, hoods, and other tools of the trade. Now I carry it all around in a big black backpack.

Yes, I do alter many of my photos. Sometimes it is just a crop, sometimes more. I don't believe that photos must be presented straight from the camera. I consider what I do (or am at least trying to do) not just photography but art. If manipulation of images was good enough for Ansel Adams, it's good enough for me. I've also started to experiment with texture, using textures I've created myself.

All of my photographs are Copyrighted and All Rights Reserved. They may not be used or reproduced in any way without my explicit written permission.

I have, on a few occasions sold some of my photos. If there is a photo in which you are interested, please drop me a line.
