Wistful ~'s photostream

I started this as something fun to do. Knowing how to compose a shot being the extent of my knowledge, I found using post processing software intimidating. I don't know what dodge or burn mean and am still hopeless when it comes to masks (watzitdo?). I am slowly learning new techniques and am finding that it becomes less intimidating each time I discover something new. I have found that perhaps I have a bit of a knack for this and am really enjoying the creative outlet it affords me. Being self taught, with no graphics experience or knowledge becomes a bit frustrating at times, I'm fairly certain that sometimes I surely take the long way around to achieve what I see in my mind's eye. But I never give up.

I have received great encouragement and advice from a couple of my flickr friends (you know who you are) and I'm sure they get tired of hearing me ask "How do I...?" Outside of flickr I have a fan club of 1 :) and that is all I need because I do this for myself.

I don't follow trends or try to figure out what people like at the moment, I just do what is in my head and what I see and feel when I look at something, be it fairies or landscapes. So never try to figure out what my style is, because I don't have one.

In life, I am in marketing. It is a daily grind which pays the bills, with the benefit of a little travel. I look forward to the day when I can give all that up and just play with grandchildren and make the art which I am becoming passionate about.

God gives us creativity, and I don't intend to waste my share of it.
