~Perfect Petals~

I'm 72 and developed a long term illness in 1989 so that I have to pace myself a lot and activity is frequently a struggle. Gardening has kept me sane over the years but since joining flickr it has been wonderful to be able to communicate more with the outside world.
I'm an amateur photographer mainly taking photos of the garden for my own records. Flickr enables me to see the world from my home which has brought a new dimension to my life. It has also inspired me to improve my photography and provided some interesting ideas.

Flickr has also made me some good friends through my contacts but I find I'm getting more than I anticipated and I'm inclined to strain myself trying to keep up to date. I want to keep a personal element with my contacts so would prefer not to have any new ones unless there is a very persuasive reason. I am quite happy however for members to have my photos on their sites. Whenever well enough I respond to any one who makes a comment to me by favourinng or commenting on one of their photos. I get iiritated when asked by someone I haven't encountered before to look at their photos. If they comment on mine I will naturallly do so anyway, I have no spare energy for more. I also find I'm getting too many requests to join groups so that the list is so long it is very slow . As a result I'm more anxious to leave groups rather than join them.

Although I can see tolerably well I have an inflammation problem that also affects my eyes so I can only make limited use of the computer. I lose concentration after reading a paragraph or two and am not able to spend time browsing to learn how to do new things on flickr or computer. I also have flashing lights from my eyes so that flashing or spinning comments are very stressful.
