I'm not really a photographer... eventhough I've been taking photos for more than 20 years now.

I used to take photography very seriously, but some years ago after spending many months travelling overseas, I came to the realisation that experiencing the moment is far more important than capturing it. I don't have a top-of-the-range camera. I don't have a tripod. I just take hand-held photos and catch what I can.



I am an 'in situ' photographer. This means I take photos of subjects as they are, in the situation I find them. I don't set up or pose shots, or disturb animals beyond the act of lining up my camera to take their photo. I firmly believe in minimal impact involvement with wildlife, be it a 2 millimetre jumping spider or a 2 metre sea lion. I certainly do not collect specimens of any kind.
