19 months ago my partner Paul was diagnosed with stage IV kidney cancer. This is incurable and means that his life is time limited. There are drugs available which can slow the growth of tumours and the spread of the disease, but these are expensive and the NICE has decided that they are not sufficiently cost effective to be recommended so our oncologist is not in a position to prescribe them.
