it seems like a good day to update my profile because, well, my old one was starting to seem a little out of date. i'm a 39-year amateur photographer with aspirations of developing into a professional-quality photographer over the next 2 years or so. unlike with my diet, i take a largely organic approach to photography. most often my shots are straight-out-of-camera shots obtained from manual operation of my camera. that doesn't mean that you won't find the occasional cropped, exposure/contrast adjusted, or otherwise manipulated photo because you will :) some pictures aren't easy to delete because i didn't take them the way i wanted lol.

my photographic interests are pretty scattered for now as i experiment and improve. i play around with some high-speed and long-exposure photography. after a year of photographing inanimate objects, i'm making an effort to including the human element into my photos--even if that human is me. i'm also playing around with the vagaries of lighting, natural and otherwise. they're all learning experiences and hopefully i'll be better for them :)

lol if you're still interesting in looking at my stream, you'll probably liken it to that photo drawer in your desk that you keep meaning to organize. i can't promise that'll change for a while ;) i hope that you find something to enjoy and thanks for visiting!
