When words become unclear, I shall focus on photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence." -Ansel Adams

YOUR WORDS TRAVEL

snow covers the valley,
your hut,
your mended begging bowl.

now you are more alone.
what music do you listen to
without the summer birds song ?

snow falling on snow,
I would say...

your best neighbours,
the clouds,
are angry and brooding tonight.

your words
travel through
time
to me...

in this late november evening,
i wonder about
the forest that surrounds you,
how only those
who are lost
can find you,
how you never want to leave...

you are so free - so free

tonight
you probably listen to the
sounds of rain falling,
as you read ancient words of wisdom

and i
watching
the snow blowing wildly,
read yours,
centuries later,
under the same moon,
longing to be free...

TES MOTS VOYAGENT

quelle musique écoutes-tu, écoute-t-on

"magic realism transplanted from the words of Marquez to the camera of Whiny Dancer ... is there something in the air of Montreal that makes colours vibrate? Fantasmagorical photographer ... Good on ya ... as we say around these parts!"

"I look forward to Whiny's photos all the time. She has a unique perspective on the world and especially Montreal. I'm amazed how she shows me parts of the city I've never taken notice of before... places I've been many times over but only through her lens have I seen the hidden focal points I've always missed. Then look up to the sky... a whole new world.. Are those the same clouds that pass over my home, LOL :) They sure look more magnificant from her perspective. It's been a pleasure to watch all the new pics come online and I look forward to many more from her. Thanks Whiny for showing me a Montreal I've rarely seen and giving us all the joy of sharing in your talent :)"

"I don't know what everybody else is at this party for but I'm here for the skies and the unique view of my city. From the sisal safety carpet of NDG to the Victorians of downtown, Whiny has caught something of the everyday life of Montreal. This is not the cool, cutting edge film noir late night after after the apocalypse café party aristocrats we
like everybody to think we are, but the people who get rope burns when they fall down the stairs. And then there are those skies. I know that sky. I can't wait to see what comes out this summer."
