All photos are copyright by the photographer, Darlene Terry, so please respect my work and do not use without permission. If there is a photo here you would like to use, you MUST contact me first.

Photography has been a lifelong passion of mine and just this past year I bought my first digital camera. I know a lot of people may think I'm crazy, but I will never touch another film camera again. I could never afford the amount of film I would have to use in order to come up with the shots I am able to take now that I have a digital.

Children and animals are my favorite subjects to photograph, but really anything with good light is worth consideration.

Dichtung & Wahrheit (Poetry and Truth) says:

    "Life is art.
There are many expressions in which art is conveyed to ones' self as well as to those who see and experience it.
When I visit Darlene's photo stream, I feel as though I am in the midst of her soul. The atmospheres created are rich in emotion, alive and sensual.

Darlene's work has an enormous wingspan, from a farewell to an animal to the invigorating / refreshing, hilarious game of children and animals, plus all the delicate tones in between ...

If you love animals, you will appreciate Darlene's relationship conveyed by the images she creates of them. These are not just snapshots of a horse or a dog.
They are the intimate moments that make up the totality of all that they are.
You walk away “knowing” their personalities.

Each image conveys a moment in time; each series conveys a story which you find yourself immersed in.
Darlene's interaction between subject and light is very strong, with emphasis on light being an essential factor in each of her images.

You will see how she can turn a simple flower or leaf into a world of magic when captured “during the golden hours” of the day.

Darlene's biggest strength is her intuition and her desire to share her vision with the world.

Her portraits of people are even more impressing to those of animals.

She does not choreograph her images. She observes her subjects, moves around them as a dancer would their partner.
Interaction is minimal yet the results are extraordinary. Natural. Emotional."
