I consider myself a "citizen of the world" - which is to say, I hold a British passport, was born in the UK, but am REALLY tired of living there, and feel far more European, these days, than I do British. In the last two years, I've spent nearly nine months in the US - specifically, a couple of months in Boulder, Colorado, and the rest in the San Francisco Bay area - am currently in Berlin, and will be relocating here for the foreseeable future. After that, who knows? Barcelona, maybe... maybe I just have a thing for place names that begin with "B". Come to think of it, I lived in Birmingham for nearly 11 years... hmmm...

Anyway, I do NOT, yet, consider myself a photographer - certainly not a skilled one. But I'd like to improve my skills. I currently own a Canon Digital Ixus (which I haven't used in over a year, but I'll remedy that, once I get back to the UK), a Nokia N95, and an iPhone. Much as I'd love a DSLR... I haven't even reached the limits of what is possible with the kit I already own, yet - so I've made a deal with myself (and my bank balance) that I won't buy another camera until I'm at the limit of what is possible with those I already own. "Less is More", and all that jazz.

I've set myself the goal of no longer using Flickr as a dumping ground for every image that I take - I can use other services for that, e.g. Posterous - nor will I automatically auto-post to Flickr, as I have been doing from Brightkite. I want to curate my current photos down so that only those that show photographic ability - or act as baselines for my current lack of it - are shown here. I really DO want to improve, y'see?
