This Flickr stream is a visual companion to my blog, West Bank Word, which is a glimpse of my life in the West Bank city of Ramallah. I returned here in October 2008 from Washington, where I'd worked as a journalist at major outlets all over the US. I lived in Ramallah for nearly three years between 1998-2001 and was eager to return and rediscover this vibrant place and the beautiful people who live here -- tell their stories, share their lives.

I'm a Palestinian-American born and raised in San Francisco; pro justice, human rights, and open dialogue between all peoples to promote understanding and harmony. I try to carry a camera, even my point-and-shoot, everywhere with me, and that encourages me to have experiences worth documenting.
