I am a 52 year old Mom of 3 grown children and grandmother to 8. I am presently divorced and looking again!
I have been sewing since age 8 and have been known to be able to do most anything in fabric. Several short months ago something put my life in turmoil and I turned to a fabric store for something to occupy my time. I found a box of Sculpeylll clay and bought it with a 50% off coupon. I have always wanted to draw/create items in a form other than fabric.
I have lost 3 diamonds out of my engagement ring with those first few items I made before I learned to either take rings off or to wear gloves.
Now I have participated in 3 or 4 swap exchanges, scary but learning with each one. I have learned there is no wrong way to do anything with clay. Just to keep on trying and to develop my clay to a point to where my pieces will sell at my name recognition,
I have also learned to create my own jewelry. Little by little I am coming up with what I think is going to be my design. My 3 piece set made with tiger eye, pearls and mother of pearl pieces, and glass cats eyes is a new step in construction for me.
I refuse to use plastic beads if I can prevent it or know it is going to a young person who may lose it or break it easily. I also make many of my own beads with polymer clay.
