I am a techno-geek. In the 90's I tried to get into photography. In the last year or so, thanks to a new job that doesn't demand all of my time and a friend who is a real good photographer, I started to get a bit more serious. I still have a long way to go.

I started back with film since that is what I had already. I originally planned to buy a digital SLR but I have really learned to love film (color film) and the dynamic range it offers. I bought a Rolleiflex Automat RF111A to get myself into medium format and right now, it is my favorite camera. Although I still use my Nikon N6006 for the flexibility in lenses and filters, and I use it as a meter for my Rollei (it is sans meter and I am still too green to trust my own guesses).

My goal is to improve my technique and composition. I try to get the best bang for the buck in camera gear. This is currently:
