Weave.

UPDATE: Friends, in early 2009, due to one particular asshole who threatened to rape my daughter, I marked most of my family photos as "Friends Only." If you're a Flickr friend who was omitted from being friended, let me know and I'll change the relationship. Flickr has, unfortunately, dropped the ball in terms of controlling the wankers and pervs and I've had to take many great photos of my family out of the public pool because of this.

GEAR: Canon 40D, Canon Digital Rebel, Yashica Electro 35, and a Nishika N8000 3D. Canon EFS 18-55mm kit, Canon EF 75-300mm zoom (1:4-5.6 IS USM), Canon 28-135mm zoom (1:3.5-5.6 IS USM). Nothin' fancy.

DAY JOB: Director of Digital Strategy for DDB. I'm regularly speak on social marketing, e.g., 2010 Consumer Electronics Show and the 2009 World Brand Congress.

Prior to DDB, I designed identities, messaging, marketing programs, brand strategies, blogs, podcasts, brochures, websites, ad campaigns, product and company launches. I also handled corporate photo/video shoots for my clients.

CLIENT LIST: Brita. BMW. Clinton Administration. Clorox. Ford. Intel, Kenwood. Kraft Foods. Level 3. Lincoln. Mattel. Mayo Clinic. MCI. Mercury. P&G. And a bunch more.

WHAT I'D RATHER BE DOING: Anything that doesn't involve 24/7 computer gazing. Organic farming. Rough carpentry. Music for film. Particle physics. Developing new propulsion systems. Something that gives back.

RESIDENCES: Grand Rapids. Detroit. Baltimore. Columbus. Cincinnati. New York. Washington DC. Los Angeles. Seattle. And now Vancouver.

FAVORITE PLACES: Bergen-aan-Zee. Galway. Washington DC. Any gaeltacht. The Olympic Peninsula. Surrey. Orange County, California. Keflavik. Any Lake Michigan or Maui beach. Anywhere with solitude. Airborne above the Atlantic in Business Class!

Seattle Flickrites
In July 2005, I founded a Seattle Flickr meetup group called the Seattle Flickrites (Meetup | Photo Pool). From 3 first attendees, we now over nearly 1700 (!) Flickrites and are one of the largest photography meetups in the world. I am super-proud of this group.

MichiganNative
National Review editor Jay Nordlinger called it "the greatest thing on the Web." My humor site. Home of, ya know, the Michigan Accent Pronunciation Guide an' stuff.

    Rasmus Rasmussen says:

"Eric is a no-nonsense kinda guy. But don't confuse that with anything boring, 'cause Eric is anything but that. Always a smile on his face, always a good story to tell and with an aura of pleasant honesty about him, it is no mystery why his Seattle flickr meetup group has become to popular. Though I am sure he would argue this with me, I say Eric's personality is part of the reason, so many people keep coming back."

"I cannot believe that no one has written this man a testimonial yet. Perhaps it's that "marketing professional" vibe people are shying away from, like those calls you hate to get at dinner time from the mortgage company. I don't know.

In any event, you really should take notice of Eric's work. He's walked a very interesting path in life, and every one of his shots reflects that journey.

From his photo set of Pacific Northwest images, to his captured moments in a Hawaiian paradise, to portraits of his lovely wife (pardon me....MEEYOUCH!), Eric presents those unique slices of a life well lived with a sense of beauty, wonder, and impeccable humor.

He's a man with heart and soul, and his skill with a camera and the written word begs to be appreciated.

Do yourself a favor and take a look around. After a while, you'll buy whatever he's selling."
