I was in the the house band at the legendary "Esquire Showbar" (Ask your parents ;-) on/off (mostly on) for 5 years backing up and sometimes playing with the motown groups of the day. 2006 "Interpretations" my first solo album.
I produced this album in 2006 and thanks to my Macintosh, WaLa.
I'm playing the Hammond B3, Guitar and lead/backup vocals live and all other instruments are virtual.

1985-1994 Under the name of Honey Music Productions,
I have been composing, arranging, recording and producing a wide variety of up-and-coming talent.

1993 Montreal Jazz Festival
Wayne Prue and Night Train were performing at Le Bistrot, 4266 Boul. St.Laurent, mixing original compositions with jazz and R&B.

1989 The Over The Rainbow Concert featuring Sonny Greenwich and Margie Gillis, at the F.C. Smith auditorium of Concordia University.
I assisted Mr. Greenwich with the programming of the music (at my studio Honey Music Productions) for the Greenwich/Gillis performance and had the honor of being invited to play the string arrangements with Sonny's band.

1985 Theatre St. Denis, Just For Laughs Festival.
I did arranged and performed with the backup vocalists for Andre-Philippe Gagnon's performance of We Are The World.

1983-1984 The Blue Note of L'Entrepot, St. Paul St. West, Montreal, QC.
As artistic director and leader of the house band, I was responsible for finding, hiring and coordinating talent. J.P. Galipeau was so inspired by what I accomplished here, that he opened The Montreal Blue Note in 1984. After I was featured at the Toronto Blue Note, I was asked to form the house band in Montreal to continue the Blue Note tradition.

1982 Jane Keyes-Ellison Choir.
As well as getting experience in the full choir, I composed some vocal arrangements for the professional choir.

1980-1981 Street Life, a quartet under my direction, which backed up some of the Quebec vedettes of the day including Chatelaine. Shows included the annual Super Gala event for Quebec artists.
This band had another side ;-) When not on the road, we performed original compositions in Place Jacques-Cartier, Old Montreal and anywhere else that we could find to express ourselves.

1977-1979 This Is Magic, a 9-piece band assembled under my direction. For 9 months we composed and rehearsed some new and some of my original compositions which were also very unique, with a mix of jazz and r&b influences. We then recorded 200 hours at (Listen Audio Productions Ltd. (308 Place d'Youville, Montreal, QC) and then spent another year touring. Some of the innovative features of this project included drama, staging and lighting reminiscent of a theatrical musical production. We were featured on the same billing with Al DiMiola at Place des Arts, Montreal, QC. Promoter: Rubin Fogel of Fogel, Sabourin Productions, 3431 St. Denis, Montreal, QC.

1975 Odyssey, a musical experiment.
A five piece band with two keyboards featuring orchestrations in a jazz vein. Unique rhythm and melodic movements set us apart from conventional jazz bands. Our performance at the Concordia University Jazz Festival was broadcast live on CBC FM, hosted by The Nighthawk, who frequently featured Odyssey on her jazz programs. We performed this concept in local jazz clubs and at Thompson House of McGill University, and were often featured on CHOM FM's The Jazz Show, hosted by Vadney Haynes.

1969-1971 The New Dawn, managed by Ben Kay Associates Inc.
(4824 Cote des Neiges Rd. Suite 38, Montreal, QC) and recorded at Sound
Canada Recording Center, Shore Acres House, 1262 Don Mills, Toronto On.)
In this concept, I composed three one-hour cycles. These compositions represented an entire year dedicated to the development of the themes and their presentation, followed by a year of performing, While others were using psychedelic light shows, and long before music videos with a theme, I introduced film footage to the performance. The film and lighting were integral aspects of the story told by each of the cycles. The cycles dealt with the future of man as related to the approaching millennium.

Other projects in this same period included The Children Of Seven, a 25-person musical production similar to The New Dawn, but with a more cosmic theme, featuring performances inside a pyramid frame with an accurate model of our solar system suspended over the dancers, singers and musicians. We performed at Laval University in Quebec and Vanier College in Montreal, as well as other local venues.

1965-1968 The Legendary Esquire Showbar (Montreal)
Played in the house band, backing up the Motown groups and other stars
of the day. We went on to become Duke Edwards And The Young Ones.
Our album, Is It Too Late?, on the U.S. jazz label, Prestige Records, was
hot in both the U.S. and Canada and can still be found on the shelves in
some record stores. Well at least when there were record stores ;-)
We were featured in the African pavilion for the season at Man And His World. (Expo 67) We played on the Canadian tours of Eric Clapton and
the Cream and The Jefferson Airplane, and in the U.S. with the famous
black poet, Leroy Jones at Hartford University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Our performances involved acting, costume changes and musical theme
cycles dealing with important topics such as Lincoln's freeing of the slaves,
the space program, the Third Dynasty of Egypt, The Story Of Man and his
search for meaning in life. As a part of this group, with the music being created by all members, I began to realize my potential as a composer.

1964 The Famous Rockhead's Paradise (Montreal)
Played and sang in the house band, The Soul Finders for one season.

1963 The Charlie Taylor Rhythm & Blues Revival, (Sherbrooke Que.)
a 25-piece review including dancers, singers, fire-eaters, limbo kings
and a full R&B band that worked from noon to midnight, 7 days a week,
in a carnival.
The demands of this engagement sharpened my skills as a musician.
This multi-media experience sparked something in me that I have since
developed, evolved and expressed in my many musical ventures.
