It was a story that started in Volda, Norway. From there it goes to New Westminster BC and then to Prince Rupert BC. From there it goes to Fort McPherson NWT where a new story began, the story of Albert Johnson.

In the summer of 2007 a new book was written about "The Mad Trapper Of Rat River"

It is a new theory, that a long lost realitive, Sigvald, became the mad trapper. Everything fits. A motive has been found for his shooting of the police officier at his door, a reason for him the choose the alias "Albert Johnson" has been found and the reasoning behind his actions are tragic, in his delusional state, he was only trying to survive.
