If you are interested in using my pictures, please ask. I'll probably say yes and give them to you for free. I've blocked downloading of my pictures because a few people have "appropriated" my pictures without permission and without giving me credit.

I'm a science and math teacher in western North Dakota. I grew up in Pennsylvania and got my Physics degree at Grove City College. If you are interested in higher resolution pictures of any of my pictures, please contact me. I have discovered some misuse of my pictures, so I am no longer posting the "good" versions.

I actually got into photography because of my love of rural schools. In North Dakota, schools are closing every year for lack of students. I taught in two small schools and recognize how special that environment is. I've taken it upon myself to photograph rural schools around the state. It's an idyllic lifestyle that is dying off. I appreciate it even more that I'm in a somewhat larger school (400 students K-12 from an area just a bit larger than the state of Rhode Island).

This hobby has ballooned since I first started photographing schools. I made the switch from film to digital a few years ago when I purchased a Canon Powershot S3. The orange "stripe" that appears in some of my pictures is why I finally gave up on my film camera!

After 3 years of photography with this camera, I began to see its limitations. I've started photographing my students in sports and music events and even doing labs. I've now switched to a Canon Rebel T2i. My selection of lenses is quite small and likely to remain so: photography is an expensive hobby!
