W(h)EW! (all caught up....going out to play!!)'s photostream  

October, 2010:
Six years ago, I was burned out. I had worked 40+ years as a photo lab tech--B&W, color transparency, digital. Totally fed up with photography when I retired, I took a year off doing absolutely nothing (very unusual for me). Then, in 2006, I bought my digital camera--I loved it. I now like to tell people that I've moved from the "dark side" of photography to the more wholesome creative side.

Starting off shooting landscapes because of my bad experiences with weddings, I attended the Maryland Renaissance Festival in 2009. That was when I decided I'd allow people back into my photography.

It's fun and I'm having a blast! Every "self-assignment" is a learning experience. I'm still looking for my niche in photography, and once I feel I know something well enough, I move on to my next phase. I attempt (not always successfully) to shoot subjects other ways than what I see others are doing. Sometimes I succeed; sometimes I don't.

I am a photographer who happens to want your critique/critcism. But, the rule is to make it constructive. Don't say "This is the worst image I've ever seen." Say something like "Although I don't care for your image, I think you could have improved by moving a bit more to the right...."

I thank, in advance, all who leave their comments. You comment and I'll comment on your photostream. It works like that.
