My first entry into the realm of digital photography was through the use of my Fujifilm Finepix 6900 camera, which I began using about 10 years ago. Before that I was using a basic Nikon SLR film camera I got too-long ago with money I earned bagging groceries while in college.
In 2006, I replaced the Finepix with a Nikon D50.
In March of 2008, I replaced the D50 with a Nikon D80. At that time, I also picked up an AF-S 70-300 VR lens, and an AF-S 16-85 VR lens.
For me, photography is a tool that helps me pay attention to the amazing details of the world around me, and practice mindfulness in the present moment.
