"Wally never fails to bring laughter to my day. A day without laughter is a day wasted, as Charlie Chaplin says, so thanks Wally! I need only visit your pages to ensure not a day is wasted."

"I've actually caught Wally drawing in Norfolk here and there. He'll greet you with a smile and show you what he's sketching. But make sure you don't turn your back on him, because he'll stab you in the backside with his drawing utensil. Not out of spite or malice, but just to let you know he's already sketched you into his trusty Moleskine. Yes, Wally is that FAST!"

Pieter Fannes says:
"I don't really like to write these kind of things, but I'm going to do it anyway because Wally makes me laugh. That's not so good, because I don't really like laughing, it gives me toothache. But anyway, he can draw really well. Not that I like thàt, because, really, I hate art, especially modern art, with the cubes and all. Happily Wally doesn't do that kind of stuff. But he draws a lot, so that means that when he's drawing he's not doing anything useful like saving other people's lives in a hospital or something. Apart from that, he's a really fine bloke. Not that I know him, of course. For all I know he could be a murderer or an advocate. Or a sailor. I've never met sailors who drew well, but I suppose they exist. Somewhere."

"If there would be only Wally Torta's stream, flickr would be good enough for me.
He is such an inspiration. A very sharp eye; his mastery gives an incredible playful and relaxed drawings. His wittiness and ability to catch the spirit of the moment makes his drawings a testimony for his time.
thanks flickr to let me know Torta."26th February, 2006
