Visserligen's photostream

My daytime job is all about words, words and words again, so photography for me is a refreshing haven away from all that. I love the different kind of challenge it provides, as it's all down to trusting your eye, your intuition, your sense of aesthetics.

As should be evident from my photostream, I'm very much an amateur, and what little I know about cameras and Photoshop I've picked up without any schooling. I've always been fairly interested in photography, but I never really picked it up as a hobby before I got myself a DSLR in early 2005. And it wasn't until about a year later, when I discovered Flickr, that I really started getting into experimenting with different kinds of subjects, exploring styles and modes of expression. I'm intrigued by trying to understand photography.

It's a luxury to get comments on what is essentially a sketch book (published online for all the world to see, absurdly enough), it makes taking and posting pictures a lot of fun, and hopefully I'm also learning a thing or two - in any case I'm extremely happy about all your feedback. I've found a great deal of talent and artistic originality on Flickr; many people on here are a wonderful source of inspiration and learning.
