Currently living in Anchorage, Alaska working as a pilot for an air ambulance company flying a Learjet 35.

Many of these photographs are taken from my personal airplane, a 1947 Luscombe 8E, and always through an open window or removed door.
In late August 2007 I acquired a Canon EOS 5D digital camera body with the intention of making exhibition-quality prints of my work in the digital medium. I often work in B&W, but an increasing concentration on aerial color and B&W is forthcoming from the Canon 5D. I'm in the slow process of mastering Photoshop CS3.

    emdot says:

"It's one thing to be able to take cool aerial photography. But it's a whole nother ballgame when you can make the photo a work of art. Dean's artistic eye captures topography and shadows in a truly magical way, giving us whole new ways to see the earth we live on."
