My screen name is my name in real life adapted for a 'virtual' world . It's also a reference to my ability, in younger years, to crash out at parties with a glass of wine in my hand and maintain enough unconscious self-control not to spill a drop !

Cameras have always featured in my life; even if they were just the disposable ones. I once had a particularly quirky video camera and a Minolta. One of these days I'll get round to scanning some of the photographs I' took with these cameras my computer to see how I can enhance them.

Until I took the Open University T189 Digital Photography course in October 2007 I was totally clueless and am still trying to understand and develop a relationship with my camera, to explore its' limits. Now my Lumix camera goes with me most places. A world without light and/or colour is unimaginable for me ... I enjoy taking photographs of anything that catches my eye, though I have a love of flowers - alive or withered. And, I am a texture addict ;-)

Since I developed Panic Disorder and depression in June 2009 the way I see the world through my camera has changed because a lot of the time I feel "disconnected". I'm mending now - am classed as "moderately" rather than "severely" afflicted - although I still have 'bad' phases. So, if I you are a contact, or a friend, and I haven't stopped by recently,I might be having an off day, or two lol !. I get great pleasure from looking at other people's work on Flickr and contacts' images are a source of inspiration for me. I look at their photographs and feel moved in some way. When I'm good I try and catch up :) Flickr and photography have been a lifeline since I became ill. So many people have given me encouragement and shared similar experiences. Thank you all - Without you it would have been so easy to just give up, pull the duvet over my head and shut out the world.

If I were asked what influences my photography, I would probably say painting; especially Monet and J.M.W Turner, and the Japanese photographer, Shinzo Maeda. But I suspect on a subconscious level there are many influences ...

Thank you all for your comments and compliments, even when I don't manage to return the compliment immediately, it means a lot and is very much appreciated :)

    "She like the purple color.
    Purple is also:
Le mauve a une conscience de visionnaire, celui qui voit de l'intérieur, voit "at large"! Voir dans le sens le plus large du mot. Le mauve est une essence qui émane de la Source Créatrice."

"Suzanne's photos have always been given a lot of thought and care. She will take one photo and experiment with many different effects, and post them for others to see. She is extremely inventive and creative. In addition she is a great flickr friend and provides very helpful comments on my photos. I am very grateful that Suzanne is my contact!"
