Made in Madeira's photostream  

Well, I would like to begin with a statement: I don't consider myself a photographer.

I love photography, like those you will find in my flickr favourites from other flickr members, all of them of rare beauty and/or quality. I thank those people for sharing with us such outstanding work.

What made me start taking pictures, and eventually post them here at flickr, was my move to Madeira Island, 13 years ago.

Here I found landscape of unusual beauty and a place where I feel close to heaven.

I started by explaining that with words, trying to convince family and friends on how lucky I was to live in such a place. Then found that a picture sometimes is really worth a thousand words.

I hope you like what you see and, who knows, maybe one day some of you will have a chance to experience these islands with your own eyes. Trust me, when you see the real thing, you may find I'm a really lousy photographer after all :o)

PS - Those who want to use my work are most welcome, as long as, whatever way you do it, you don't change it and it shows clearly its relation to Madeira Island.
But please ask first. It's the least you can do and if you need I will even provide you the original photo, with better resolution.

Bom, começo com uma afirmação: não me considero um fotógrafo.

Gosto muito de fotografia, como a que podem encontrar nos meus favoritos de outros membros do flickr, todas possuindo rara beleza e/ou qualidade. Agradeço a essas pessoas por partilharem connosco esse trabalho extraordinário.

O que me levou a começar a tirar bonecos, e eventualmente colocá-los aqui no flickr, foi a minha mudança para esta ilha, há 13 anos.

Aqui encontrei paisagem de rara beleza e um lugar onde me sinto perto do céu.

No início tentei explicar isso com palavras, tentando convencer família e amigos sobre a sorte que tinha em viver num lugar assim. Depois reconheci que uma imagem por vezes pode mesmo valer por 1000 palavras.

Espero que gostem do que virem aqui e, quem sabe, talvez um dia possam ver estas ilhas com os vossos próprios ollhos. Acreditem-me, quando isso acontecer, é bem provável que descubram que sou mesmo um fraco fotógrafo :o)

PS - Quem quiser utilizar o meu trabalho é bem vindo, desde que, seja qual for o objectivo, não façam alterações e deixem bem claro a sua relação com a ilha da Madeira.
Mas por favor peça primeiro. Não custa nada e se precisar até posso dar-lhe a foto original, em melhor definição.
