Currently living in Charlotte, NC, I spent many years living in London, England and Asheville, NC before returning to my accidental home four years ago. I was born and raised in Central Illinois, and have an aversion to most things Southern, except for Charleston, SC, biscuits and sweet tea.

I believe in love. I believe in reading great books and cooking great food. I believe in cozy homes, bubble baths, and pajamas. I believe in a glass of wine at the end of the day. I believe in honest expression. I believe in taking lots of photos. I believe in helping others. I believe in making memories. I believe in seeing as much of the world as I possibly can. I believe in making others happy. Mostly, I believe in being happy.

I am an educator who works with children of all ages. I adore my career, though it can be very challenging (and exhausting!).

I sponsor a child who lives in the slums of Kolkatta, India.

In my spare time I am a loving dog owner and animal advocate, a volunteer, a voracious reader, photographer and avid traveller.

We travel Internationally at least once a calendar year.
In 2009 we went to Ireland for an amazing holiday.
This fall (2010), we are off to Bluefields Bay, Jamaica!
In spring 2011 - we're heading to Greece and Turkey.
Next on the list is Peru, India, and a destination in Asia not yet determined.
