I am a published writer and poet from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, I grew up in Haarlem where I was born 1967.

I was a hobby photographer in my teens and then more or less forgot about my camera for 20 years. Since 2008 I have been rediscovering photography. I take portraits, sometimes on assignment, sometimes because I like it. Also I am making a series about the eastern part of Amsterdam I live in, Watergraafsmeer.

I love Flickr to get inspired and exchange ideas. This year I started a group here: www.flickr.com/groups/1618699@N24/. It's about billboards and posters and advertising images and how they look in their context and surroundings.

My favourite photographers are Stephen Shore, Todd Hido, Alec Soth, Martin Parr, Paul Graham, William Eggleston, Bruce Davidson, Anton Corbijn, Diane Arbus, Sally Mann, Bill Henson and many many more.

I use digital and analog, Fuji X100, Nikon D700 and Mamiya 7II. Also for film Nikon F5 and Mamiya C330. And my iPhone, which is getting better and better.
