I am Austrian and I live in Vienna. I am a retiree after a 35 year career as banker and banking software consultant in Vienna.

My hobbies are photography, image processing, cooking, reading and more :-) I have my own homepage, where I present my collection of vintage mechanical toys and vintage teddy bears.

Whenever I have time I visit the Zoo Vienna. I love to watch and photograph the animals there. My favourite motif is the pair of Giant Pandas Yang Yang and Long Hui who have been living in the Zoo Vienna since 2003. Yang Yang gave birth to a male cub on August 23rd, 2007. It was so exciting to watch little Fu Long growing up. In November 2009 Fu Long had to move to Bifengxia in China. He accustomed himself to the new surroundings quickly.

Yang Yang and Long Hui are doing well in the Zoo Vienna - maybe there will be another cub one day?

August 23rd, 2010: Yes, another Panda cub was born! Exactly three years after Yang Yang's first cub, Fu Long!
