A regular guy who loves old fashioned photography. I see photographs all around me. I come from a film SLR background, but just got a Canon 30D. I still like my Sony H5 for a 'carry everyday' camera.
My photos are a mix of Color, B&W, and Sepia. Each photo tells me what flavor it wants to be. I am constantly looking to capture 'the decisive moment'.
I use the photo software that came with my computer to crop and make 'atmospheric' improvements for screen display.
If my comments seem short or lacking awards sometimes, it's probably because I am making them with my mobile phone.

My Motto: "If you can't say nothin' nice, then don't say nothin' ".

"Jeff doesn't know it, but he is teaching me the art of photography. He is one of the main people that I watch and learn from."

"Jeff's work is always such a pleasure and joy to view, as he captures such deep naturalness from a beautiful world, with his keen eye and wonderful sense of nature in all he sees and shares with us on his superb photostream. Each and every new photo is refreshing!
He also is such a great soul and a truly valued friend with whom I am honoured to know through flickr, and I suggest everyone should take a look at a world through Jeff's photos here."8th June, 2007

"Jeff has a unique, keen, analytical eye for natural and architectural beauty and the talent to render emotion thru his camera’s eye and display it on every pixel.
Jeff is a constant inspiration!

"Jeff at a very early age loved to sit in trees looking over the mountains and watching all the beauty provided by nature. His creative writing, reading and photography is a natural everyday hobby for him.. His beautiful artistic style of photography is presented to Flickr in a lovely soft format.. His style is so different than the average...I love it. I discovered he is highly respected on Flickr as an artistic photographer and as a friend to many.
My son has been a joy to me and I am so proud of his life and his work. His beautiful wife and daughter are a great source of encouragement for his love of photography. By the way, he has 4 brothers and they all feel the same way about him.
Take some time to browse through his photostream.. you will find beautiful work.
Love you Jeff
Mom"9th October, 2006

Geoff Penn says:
"Stop right there.
Looking for creative inspiration? - look no further.
Looking for technical excellence? - look no further.
Looking for photographic talent? - look no further.
Looking for a man with a mean cat?
I have found all this and more in Jeff's Flickr pages, stop and take a good look.
Jeff's work has inspired and enthused a good number of Flickr photographers - as evidenced by the comments they leave under his work. As you've read here, Jeff inspired his daughter so much that she's made off with his new Canon!
Photography must be genetic: Jeff's Grandmother - Alyce Gibson - kindled Jeff's interest when he was only ten. Without Alyce's inspiration, guidance and encouragement, Jeff's great photographs may not exist - and Flickr would be that little bit poorer.
Thanks Jeff!"7th August, 2006

"He turns every shots and images into a piece of art. I have to say this is the man who inspired every single sepia images I post up. Just look through his work and you'll see what a truly talented photographer he is. Thank you for the inspiration!"

"Jeff is one of the first people I met on Flickr—and he can take a large part of the blame for my Flickr-addiction! :) I was immediately drawn to his unique and talented way of capturing ordinary things in an extraordinary way. He is gifted at finding the essence of a moment or situation, and giving us all a chance to see what has always been there, but we’ve never noticed.
Even more striking than his talent is Jeff’s kindness. It is evident in all of his photos, as well as his comments and correspondence. He is one of my favorite people, on or off Flickr! His love for his family, friends, and creatures shines through in his photographs, and you can’t help but share his happiness as you view them. He truly leaves a “gentle path” wherever he treads.
Thanks Jeff, for allowing us to experience a few glimpses of the world through your eyes!"28th May, 2006
