I'm passionate about life in all its nuances...
La vita mi appassiona in tutte le sue sfumature
[from Susan Sontag]
I work in journalism and communication, in the fields of human rights, cultures and new technologies since 1998-1999. I'm currently writing.
After graduating (MA) magna cum laude in Humanities – Communication and Performing Arts at the Università Roma Tre in 1999, I wanted to work with online video and in 2000 I started to work for RadioRadicale.it as webjournalist. Radio Radicale is the only private radio to be recognised as public service by the Italian Parliament and as of 1999 it broadcasted live on the internet all the Parliamentary hearings and several other political events. The online archive was extraordinarily rich for that time.
As of 2002 I was RadioRadicale.it ICTY (International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia) correspondent.
My job in The Hague consisted of broadcasting live and archiving all Milosevic Trial hearings, writing daily articles, in-dephts and short news.
I co-founded the Association of Journalists at the International Criminal Court, representing webjournalists in the Board.
The Court was created while I was living in The Netherlands, and I was hired at the end of 2002 by the Public Information Office.
It was an exciting experience: everything had to be set up, a new international organisation was in its start-up phase, I was among the first 25 staff members to work there (now it counts more than 700 employees) and I ended up developing the digital communication plan and the new version of the website, that is still visible online.
I also helped in the activities of the press office and of the public information office.
After two years dealing with war crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity I needed some light and I went back to Rome, where I worked for a dance agency – impresario – that represents foreign contemporary dance companies in Italy.
I started again working as a journalist, mainly for newspapers of different political views focusing on Culture and Entertainment.
In October 2005 I moved to Bosnia Herzegovina for working, research and personal reasons; in May 2006 I went to Canada (Toronto and Montreal, where I covered immigration related issues and the two main international film festivals TIFF and FFMM) for working and research reasons, in October 2007 I went back to Italy and then back to Toronto for a couple of months.
There I had he occasion of having a close look at the work of the most important multicultural private Canadian TV, while I was working for Italian newspapers.
In April-May 2008 I joined the Project Interchange European Immigration and Integration Experts seminar program of the American Jewish Committee in Israel in Tel Aviv, Akko, Sederot (close to the Gaza Strip) and Jerusalem. That was really an important experience for me.
I always tried to combine my interest in human rights with my passion for cultures and new technologies.
I worked in several projects, covering different roles such as press officer, researcher for a performing arts centre, assistant to the director for the organisation of a TV and Film International Festival.
Occasionally I also did some translations and worked as interpreter in dance classes, university thematic lessons, etc.
While I was in high school I worked as salesperson in a clothes shop, that was also working with theatre and cinema costume designers; during the university I organised workshops and did a bunch of students jobs.
I also collaborated in the organisation of some art and new technologies festivals and projects.
Languages: Italian, English, French (basic), I understand Spanish and I can say/write a few words in Bosnian/Croatian
