There are approximately 1 million photographs in the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum’s archival collection. The images in the collection consist of black and white and color photographs, slides, negatives, and glass lantern slides to recent born digital images. The collection represents the history of the United States Navy Seabees and Civil Engineer Corps and covers all major conflicts from the both World Wars to the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War era, the Persian Gulf War to current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Over 10,000 images have been digitized and most will soon be available on this site and others. We will be adding more digitized photographs from our collections, which will continue to be seen here in ever increasing numbers. With such an immense and diverse collection, it will be many years before a sizeable percentage of our holdings will be available online. However, researchers are welcome to visit us to view our collections or to submit an inquiry.

Currently, the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum is closed to the public and historical requests while we move from our current World War II era quonset hut museum to a new state-of-the-art museum. We will be available for requests starting in October 2011. Thank you for your patience.
